Hey guys, feeling hungry when you are shopping at bugis
street? Looking for a quick snack to munch on while walking around the streets?
There is a small food store called “I love taimei” located near the end of the
street. To me, it is the closest to a genuine street food stores in Taiwan. It
sells snacks such as bubble and fruit tea and has quite a large selection of
food which they will fry in batter before it is served.
It also has really nice
bubble tea and passion fruit tea which is a perfect drink to cool yourself when
walking in the cramp streets in bugis.
The two food which really reminded me of
the food in Taiwan is the fried sweet potato and chicken cubes. The sweet
potato was crispy on the outside but soft and fluffy in the inside. It had a nice
sweet flavor and a perfect balance with its seasoning. The chicken cubes were really
tender with basil added inside to enhance its flavor. I recommend that you to
check out this store if you want a taste of Taiwan’s “small eats”.
